CCALL includes the following subsets, each of which may be searched individually:

The five science subsets are available in a single edition named CCSE, containing AGRI, CLIN, TECH, LIFE and PHYS.
A single edition named CCACL, containing AGRI, CLIN, LIFE is available.
All six subsets are available in a single edition named CCALL.

Abstract
Persistent, semi-volatile organochlorine compounds, including toxic
industrial pollutants and agricultural pesticides, are found everywhere on
Earth, including in pristine polar and near-polar locations(1-4). Higher
than expected occurrences of these compounds in remote regions are the
result of long-range transport in the atmosphere, precipitation and 'cold
condensation'-the progressive volatilization in relatively warm locations
and subsequent condensation in cooler environments(3,4) which leads to
enhanced concentrations at high latitudes. The upper reaches of high
mountains are similar to high-latitude regions in that they too are
characterized by relatively low average temperatures, but the accumulation
of organochlorine compounds as a function of altitude has not yet been
documented. Here we report organochlorine deposition in snow from mountain
ranges in western Canada that show a 10- to 100-fold increase between 770
and 3,100 m altitude. In the case of less-volatile compounds, the observed
increase by a factor of 10 is simply due to a 10-fold increase in snowfall
over the altitude range of the sampling sites. Tn the case of the
more-volatile organochlorines, cold-condensation effects further enhance
the concentration of these compounds with increasing altitude. These
findings demonstrate that temperate-zone mountain regions, which tend to
receive high levels of precipitation while being close to pollutant
sources, are particularly susceptible to the accumulation of semivolatile
  organochlorine compounds. [References: 22]

Document Ordering Information

Use the ISI- Thomson Scientific document delivery service, to order the full text of any document in the Current Contents(R) database. Also, you can in the Configuration Editor.

Saving Documents in Request-A-Print format

A Request-A-Print order is a request for an article reprint, addressed to the reprint author. Reference Update and Current Contents customers may save documents in the "Request-A-Print" output format and then print the saved file on ISI- Thomson Scientific's Request-A-Print form.

ISI- Thomson Scientific's Request-A-Print forms are designed to make it easy to request reprints of articles, allowing you to easily create an article reprint request containing the article title, source, author's address, and your name and address.

How to save Ovid documents in Request-A-Print format

Request-A-Print format is an Ovid Output Format which may be designated in the Save Documents box. You may save documents either from a set on the Main Search Screen, or from the Document Display screen.
  1. - Invoke the Save option and select "Save Documents." The Save Documents dialog box will be displayed.
  2. - Select the "Options" feature in the dialog box.
  3. - From the displayed list of formatting options, choose "Output Format."
  4. - In the Output Format box, select Request-A-Print and press Enter. You will be returned to the Save Documents dialog.
  5. - Name your file and select OK. Your documents will be saved with the default file extension *.DAT.
The saved DAT file may now be printed using the ISI- Thomson Scientific PrintRAP utility on the special ISI- Thomson Scientific Request-A-Print forms.

Output Format - Default Setting

Ovid offers three output formats for saved documents: Ovid format, Reprint format and Request-A-Print format. The default for Saved Documents is Ovid Format.

If you wish all documents to be saved by default in Request-A-Print format, you may change the default Output Format using the Ovid Configuration Editor. To invoke the editor, choose "Default Settings" (Standalone users must select "Global Default Settings") from the Options/menu on the Main Search Screen. Select Reference Update or Current Contents (depending on which database you are searching) from the list of databases. From the nested screens select Database Print/Save Options..., then select Output Format. Select "Request-A-Print" and press .

The ISI- Thomson Scientific PrintRAP Utility

The ISI- Thomson Scientific PrintRap utility executable file, printrap.exe, is located in the directory in which you installed Ovid on your computer [the default directory is \ovid]. If you are running a networked version of Ovid, you may not have access to this directory. Contact your System Administrator for more information about access to this file.
